Hosted Exchange Setup

Setting up your Hosted Exchange Account:

Another mail service we offer at Macrolan is Hosted Exchange. If you have purchased this product and need to set it up, here is a simple how-to on setting up hosted exchange accounts.

After the account has been created, you will receive the following email:
“Dear Customer

We have configured your new Exchange mailbox(s) as follows:

Billed to                    -  Your Company
Email address           -  myname@mycompany.com
Username                 -  myusernam
Password                  -  xxxxxxxxx
Server name              -  sever.mydomain.com
Outlook Web Access -  server.mydomain.com/exchange
Quota setting            -       xxGB

Please remember to have the ticket reference handy. The reference will look like this LLL-54764-483

Note: Quota warnings will be sent as follows:
For mailboxes, 3Gig and up - 500MB of free space remaining, 2Gig and under - 200MB of free space remaining.

These warnings can be amended should you need a later or earlier notification.”

Please use the details in the email that you received with the below setup guide to add the account within your email client.

Seting up your Hosted Exchange Account in Microsoft Office Outlook:

Now lets get the mailbox setup in Microsoft Office Outlook

1.  Go to Control Panel and open up “Mail”, you should then see the following window appear

2.  Click on “Email Accounts”

 3.  Click on “New”

4.  Select “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” and then click on “Next”

5.  Select the “Microsoft Exchange” option and then click on “Next”

6.  Fill in your Hosted Exchange Server name and user name in the respective boxes, as indicated in the email sent to you, with all your credentials for your email account. (Refer to example at the top of this page)

7.  Make sure that “Use Cashed Exchange Mode” is selected and then click on “Next”

8.  When you see the the window that is displayed above, then click on the “Connection” tab

9.  Put a tick in the check box to select “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP”

10.  In the “https://” box type in your on the web access address as shown in the example at the top of this page. These details will be provided to you in an email from Macrolan

11.  Now click on the check to boxes to select both “On fast networks, connectusing HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP” and “On slow networks, connect using HTTP firs, then connect using TCP/IP”

12.  Under Proxy authentication settings, select “Basic Authentication” form the drop down menu and then click on “OK”

Now you will see the following window

13.  Click on “Next” to complete the setup

Congratulations! Now you have successfully setup your Hosted Exchange E-Mail Account.
