Online Backup

MacroLan offers two data back up solutions:

Client On Site Back Up Solution:

Onsite back up services include the sale of backup software, storage devices and tape streamers to the client for the client to undertake systematic backups of the client’s data. If required, clients can contract MacroLan to undertake such on site back ups on the client’s behalf.

Client Off Site Back Up Solution:

Offsite back up services for servers, desktops and notebooks include a contract with MacroLan for the rental of back up software. Disc to Disc off site backup software application is an automated on line data storage application that sends a mirror copy of data from the device (a desktop / laptop or server) to a storage server for backup (the storage server can be local or remote). The data on the server can be recovered directly to the user device via the client software or can be accessed via a secure web-browser interface from any other computer. Both MacroLan and the client can initiate the recovery. Stored files are located within a client specific profile, which can only be accessed by the client with the correct username, password, and encryption key. Initially, a full backup is made of the identified data set, compressed, encrypted and transmitted to the storage platform which can reside either at MacroLan or on the client’s network. An incremental patch backup is then executed that extracts the binary changes made to data files and transmits the data to the remote storage platform. The scheduling system starts the backup process automatically. Any backup data set may be assigned one of the following schedule options this is set up by MacroLan - hourly, daily , automatic (at log on, log off or connection) or on demand. A client interface enables users to restore individual files, folders and entire data sets by selecting the data required and the version date. A search facility is built into the restore function.
