Hosted Exchange
“Microsoft Exchange Server” is a messaging and collaborative software product developed by Microsoft. Exchange’s major features consist of electronic mail, calendaring, contacts and tasks, support for the mobile and web-based access to information, and supporting data storage. MacroLan rents to clients account facilities on MacroLan’s hosted exchange server for clients to utilize exchange features without having to own and manage their own exchange server. MacroLan’s server ensures secure web access through the use of SSL certificates. The server is located in MacroLan’s contracted Data Centre facilities and is supported by MacroLan’s highly skilled Microsoft Engineers.
Hosted exchange features include:
- Fully managed version of Microsoft Exchange;
- The ability to synchronize email to a PDA with secure active sync;
- Email access via HTTP with Outlook web access or via POP3, IMap or RPC over HTTP/s;
- Virus and Spam email filtering;
- The synchronization of email sent from a desktop, a PDA or Outlook Web Access into a global sent items, ensuring that historic email is available at all times;
- Daily backups of Exchange mailboxes;
- Email, contacts, calendar and tasks redundancy in the event of notebook theft or malfunction. Client data is stored on the exchange server and is accessible via mobile phone or Outlook web access portals.
