Website Hosting
MacroLan offers website hosting services. Websites are hosted in a clustered hosted environment and are secured behind firewalls. MacroLan undertakes hourly snapshot backups of client data which is quickly accessible and easy to restore data from. Websites are located on the MacroLan network ensuring high speed accessibility. MacroLan provides weekly and monthly web statistics covering the number to hits to a client’s site and the sites most popular pages. Websites can be hosted on either a Linux or Windows Server. If required, MacroLan can provide clients with MySQL or MSSQL databases.
MacroLan website hosting packages include:
- Basic hosting - 50MB Web traffic, 50MB Web Storage, on either a Windows or Linux Server
- Advance Linux Hosting - 100MB Web traffic, 100MB Web Storage, 1 x MySQL database, on either a Windows or Linux Server
Server Hosting
MacroLan offers two types of server hosting services namely co-location hosting and managed hosting. Under both services, servers are located in racks in MacroLan’s contracted Data Centre facilities. These facilities have secure, access - controlled server rooms with UPS’s, battery power and back up diesel generators. MacroLan shall grant the client access to the Data Centre to maintain and inspect client servers on receiving a written request to support@macrolan.co.za specifying the date and time of the required access.
- Co- Location Server Hosting
MacroLan hosts the client’s server in MacroLan’s contracted Data Centre facilities. The client is provided with rack space, an IP address and internet connectivity. Further services of backup facilities, remote reboots, server downtime monitoring (via sms or email) and traffic graphs are available. Under Co - location hosting, it is the client’s responsibility to manage their server. Should a client require MacroLan’s assistance in this regard, a client can contract MacroLan to manage the server on the client’s behalf.
- Managed Server Hosting:
MacroLan rents a server to the client and undertakes the maintenance and support of the server’s operating system. Servers are located in MacroLan’s contracted Data Centre facilities. The clients is provided with an IP address, back up services and traffic graphs. Server hardware rental will be customized to meet a client’s application requirements. Server software rental includes Windows server operating systems and MS SQL software, including licenses for the application used. MacroLan does not provide application level support for the rented server.
